Pistons alone.
In my opinion the best and most versatile single item in the game.
Theres no other item that has as many very very creative uses.
And it brought the possibility of turning some huge redstone circuits into tiny little circuits just by replacing a shit load of torches with a single piston that does the same thing.
Remember when we coulndnt cut off a water source without manually placing or destroying a block?!
Or hidden doors, hiddden traps, retracting stairs, and just millions of other uses!
7 segment displays were just a load of torches on a wall until pistons.
Although i will admit, that piston display is about to become obsolete with the addition of lanterns

Minecarts, which I think is Secret Friday 2. I have no clue whatsoever.
Who needs signatures? Because I most certainly do not not require such a thing.

Alpha 1.2, aka the Halloween Update.
That's the update that made me start playing Minecraft.
The first few beta updates were kinda cool, too... nowadays they're just rolling out the updates too quickly...
