Access from Work

I work during the day, but I'd like to be able to use the website. Obviously I can't buy anything while not logged onto the survival server, but is there any way to get on some of the other functions without access to the game?

You should be able to access irc.renmx.com to chat to players via irc at work. (or any IRC app)

It wants to send something to my in-game character (who isn't on now, since I'm at work), or otherwise needs a password and special code or something.

Our websites have to authenticate you. What you can do is copy the Cookie from our sites (go to like shop.renmx.com on your home PC then note down the Cookie data) then apply that at work in your work browser.

Although it'd be easier if you could login to Minecraft to get the code instead. You only need to login once to get the code for work, you can be logged in to our online services from multiple computers at multiple locations at the same time.

Okay, I'll have to remember to send the cookie address to my work one of these days.

Okay, as an update, I purged the cookies from my home computer, had it pop up with the authentication thing there, copied the link it gave me in-game to the clipboard, emailed that link to my work, then applied it at home.

End result is that it's saying it still can't authenticate me at work, and wants to send something to me in-game again. Any other thoughts?

The code that comes up is only valid for 5 minutes. It's a security precaution to make sure attackers cannot simply try every letter/number combination to gain access to a users account who may have generated a code but never used it to login.

I know however that you've already managed to login at work by using the Android Minechat App to get the login code as we spoke about it in IRC earlier, I'm just replying here for others who may wonder why the same thing.

Here are the steps to login from work where you cannot run Minecraft.

1. Own an iPhone, Android Phone or Windows Phone
2. Download the Minechat app (free) to your mobile device
3. Login to our server using Minechat on your phone
4. Go to one of our websites that support in-game authentication
5. It will ask you to put your username in, do that
6. On your mobile phone inside Minechat you will have received a website link
7. Type that link in to your work computers browser and hit enter
8. You are now authenticated at work!

But pri, I don't own either one of those! My phone is just a brick that I can also use to throw at people!!
