I have decided to stop PvPing.
On in this server I have been one of the many players flying around killing new or afk players in the Wilderness. I now have felt the impact of what I have done to the players, and the threats I have got. I will no longer PvP on this server and have also left my town because of the negativity that has came with it. I am sorry to all the players who I have Killed and this server and hope we can become friends in the future.

Re: I have decided to stop PvPing.
Sad to hear that you left but its your own decision and I hold no grudges against anyone, good luck in the future. I also want to let you know the following post means no offence at all it is only giving my opinion and advice on the issue or similar ones that may happen in the future.
To me this seems like a weak minded decision; you easily gave in to others demands just because they felt inconvenienced. If you want to do something that you enjoy and it causes some tiny virtual harm like another playing dying and losing a couple of things, that player that died should not go to such extreme measures as to make threats and freak out like a little child. Those people are just being whiny about your success out of their failure, it is human nature and its going to happen with everything you do. Everything in the world can cause SOMEBODY offence and make them hate you, so some advice for the future is not to care so much what others think of you as. As long as you are happy with what you do it should be fine. I do not really see the point of apologizing and thinking it is your fault for them whining, it just spoils the already spoiled. If PvP had a negative effect on most or all people it would be removed or something to fix it would be added. Sure you could stop or slow down maybe on those who are new because its a kind thing to do, but stopping all together is just extreme and completely giving in to others demands, they are making your choice for you.
Overall, just try not to let other's sway you so most and control your thoughts and actions, you make your own decisions which lead to your own consequences, whether they are good or bad. Good luck with your future of the server!
(By the way I think this would go under general discussion)

Re: I have decided to stop PvPing.
I agree with what Nol said, for the most part.
I'm personally not a big fan of PVP, but I don't mind it. I actually don't think PVPing in the wild causes that big of an issue. If you go AFK in the wild, that is your problem. Death is entirely preventable if you just stay vigilant and leave your map open. What I take offense to is when people harass others who are trying to build. But as far as I know, you didn't do that.
It also makes me sad to see people scamming. By that, I mean tricking people to their deaths. Specifically, you, SJL, once told me you could sell me some stone when I was asking to buy some. I teleported to you where you proceeded to kill me. That kind of thing ticks me off. Of course, I didn't lose anything because I banked all my stuff ahead of time, but it really demonstrates the level of trust you can be given. I can forgive you for that, but I won't forget. A few others have tried to do that sort of thing, too. In my opinion, that is the big issue of PVP.
Basically, my point is, as long as you're not tricking other people to their deaths, PVP is okay. If you've decided to give it up entirely, good on you. I hope you can find other things to do on the server that entertain you.

Re: I have decided to stop PvPing.
What Shwam said makes me want to bring up another point of PvP, scamming, or anything legal but super annoying to others and cheap. DO NOT do ANYTHING like that UNLESS you know how to handle situations you get yourself into with somebody cussing you out and raging or something like that. Even a staff member might come after you do to a misconception and you have to be prepared to back your reasoning and prove yourself innocent. I'd like to give an example without using specific names, we'll just say I killed Bob, ok? Now, Bob starts raging at me pretty damn hardcore, throwing cuss words like the nationals practices throwing baseballs. I would remain calm and ignore them and suggest for them to staff. When a staff member most likely gets involved I calmly tell them what happened, honestly of course (lying won't help your case, and honesty shouldn't be a problem because there was no rules broken). You would do what the staff tells you to do if anything and everything should be ok, the only issue that would usually happen is Bob getting banned after not stopping after a staff asks him to calm down.
In short, I don't suggest scams, assassinations/ambushes, or anything like that unless you can handle the situation calmly and accordingly while keeping out of trouble. Trust me I have quite a lot of experience with that.
