The corsair Vengeance K70 is an evolution of the K60 as the K95 (also new out) is to the K90. This. The K70 body is made of aluminum (at least the top), I have the anodized (gunmetal) black version with red back lighting, there is a silver version with blue backlighting also. All of the keys on the K70 and K95 are mechanical with Cherry MX Red switches..This wasn't the case with older corsair keyboards, the function keys and the Macro keys in the K90's case were rubber dome type keys with the rest mechanical. Corsair has taken a huge step ahead with their new generation keyboards.
The back lighting supports three levels of brightness also an option to light only numbers 1 - 6, WASD and the arrow key, There's also "per key back lighting" which enables you to set only the keys you want to be back lit. There is another mode that is reactive, all the lights are off and when you hit a key it will light up for a second. I prefer leaving the keyboard with all keys lit with medium brightness, It's just a matter of personal taste.

The keyboards space bar has a dimpled texture which is quite nice,The keyboard also comes with red 1 - 6 number key caps and WASD key caps which you can change with the included key cap removal tool. These are not only red but textured like the space bar and also contoured, there is a slight curvature across the keys when placed in the proper order. I wont use these as I prefer my keyboard to be all black.
The wrist rest is not attached by default, it comes in the box and just clips on and is completely optional. It has a nice soft texture to it.
This is my first mechanical keyboard so it will take some time to get used to typing with it. I've been used to laptop-like low profile keys for a while now so going back to large raised keys is a little bit of a challenge.
The keyboard also has media keys (stop, forward, backward, play/pause) a mute button, a volume roller which you scroll forward/backwards like the scroll wheel on your mouse.a USB 2.0 port on the back as a pass through, useful for connecting a USB stick or something.
In all this is a very nice keyboard and I am surprised at how heavy it is too.
