So we are about to switch to Minecraft 1.5 and before I do so I want to take a vote about what you guys think we should be doing with The End. I would like to wipe it once a week so players can fight the dragon but I understand a few of you have spent a lot of time building Ender Grinders in there and would rather it wasn't wiped.
So please vote, do you want it to be wiped automatically very often so you can fight the dragon or would you prefer The End stayed as-is so that you can grind XP.

Think of the end grinders D:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything, it's too late to stop reading it...

Xp grinding can be done anywhere, but the dragon only spawns in one place so myself I'm voting for the regular wipe so we can all have the chance to fight it, be like raiding in wow.

Re: The End: Voting
I am against resetting the end. there are existing monumental buildings there, which have a purpose of enchanting. The purpose of resetting the end, is to give players more to do.. I believe with the new additions from 1.5, killing a dragon (which is an effortless fight btw) will not be the priority of most players. especially when you consider the disadvantage certain people have when there is a designated time to kill the dragon.
xp farms serve a purpose. dragons slaying happens not often, and serves no utilitarian purpose. vote no!

Can't you move the current end to another world and generate a new end every week 'n so?
That way new players can experience defeating the ender dragon and players can still kick back and collect from their XP farms.

Re: The End: Voting
Well in my opinion, endergrinders make it too easy to get experience. Fighting the dragon drops an abundance of it, and you MAY want to remove the dragon egg shop if everyone does get to fight it.
So yes, it should be regularly wiped.

The only difference between dicking around and science...
is writing it down.

This poll is really close and does not cross the threshold I decided on to reset. Instead I am going to spawn an enderdragon in the end every so often. No wipe.

Re: The End: Voting
Good... from a builder's standpoint it's always extremely frustrating to have something you spent hours and sometimes weeks building wiped, no matter where it is. I certainly don't oppose fighting a dragon, but wiping builds is just way too taxing for those of us who are committed to building up the worlds. If we are going to ban people for griefing one block, I don't see the reasoning behind wiping away entire maps.
And honestly, are grinders really that big of a deal? I mean, we do allow people to fly in survival mode...
