Hi Everyone,
This is my application for Engineer. usws told me i should apply for my Wither Farm build, however I just completed the Blaze farm as well in the same part of the nether. So I submit both for your consideration.
The Wither Farm is an adaptation of a common blaze farm. It utilizes 8 spawners and a simplistic pressure plate piston design. After about an hour of farming with the Looting 3 sword, I have just under a stack of wither heads, a double chest of coal and 2 double chests of Bones.
The blaze farm is also an adaptation of a common blaze farm, however i have modified it to be very fast at moving the Blaze down to the kill zone. Once the Blaze are in the kill zone, you close the top, crush them and then 1 hit kill them with the looting sword. After 1 hour of farming with the Looting 3 sword, I have 2 double chests of Blaze Rods and 7 Blaze heads.
I also have a really nice villager trading system that allows you to farm emeralds very quickly. It is quite redstone intensive as well. My cow and sheep spawners utilize the same simple pressure plate piston design that is in the wither spawner. And last but not least is the rabbit spawner which is my own design that utilizes the Seth Bling Hopper timer to retract grass blocks, dropping the rabbits into a water stream and taking them to the kill area. I can post pics of these builds as well if needed.
Cheers,
Tom

- Blaze Farm Redstone - All of the redstone is based off of the Seth Bling Hopper Timer. I used this timer to trigger the top middle and bottom pistons in succession. This is the key to rapidly moving the blaze down the funnel.

- Blaze Farm Interior - 8 Spawners keep the down time to a minimum as it only takes around 30 seconds to get to spawn capacity. Pistons are on a clock that makes them fire in a clockwise rotation starting with the top and working its way to the bottom, eventually pushing the blaze into a 2x1 space. This is a common blaze farm funnel design, however i came up with the piston arrangement and firing timing myself.

- Wither Farm Interior - Simple pressure plate piston design that is loud but effective. With 8 Spawners, there are always withers spawning and the heads roll. Around 1 stack per hour to be precice.

- Blaze Farm Kill Station, turn on the mover pistons and wait for the blaze to funnel down. Takes around 30 seconds for them to reach their max spawn number. Once all the Blaze have stopped spawning, close the lid and crush them. When the crusher is done, you kill them with the Looking 3 sword for lots of XP and Blaze Rods

Re: BeatportTom Engineer Application
This build is every eye appealing although I know nothing of redstone I will leave it to the staff members that do
Goodluck! Build looks very pretty though

Skyline made something similar to this before especially the structure.

Re: BeatportTom Engineer Application
i havent seen it ingame but you might want to read the post about the ranks and what each one requires because it does say that generally farms wont earn this rank

Re: BeatportTom Engineer Application
Look, i am only applying because someone with a higher rank liked what i built and said i should apply. If you dont like the builds, its okay to say so, but dont knock the design, because i have done a lot of trial and error before arriving at the designs that i have chosen for these farms. there is a lot of logic and thought that have gone into these builds. If farms wont get me the rank its okay because im happy with what i have and can build more because of it. While the concept of ranking up is cool, i have no need to be validated and will keep building what i like.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: BeatportTom Engineer Application
Apologies, it may not be my place, however I see that no-one has marked it.
This will not get it, i'm sorry, the redstone used is not "complex" enough.
Image 1 - Timer with delay
Image 2 - Pistons connected to pressure plate
Image 3 - Same above
Image 4/5 - NA
Image 6/7 - NA
For an actual build (such as apprentice and architect) this would fit into the those categories better. This build has minimal redstone.
Probably a low score in uniqueness (farms have been done many times)
Ambition - It might be difficult to get the redstone to activate only 1 piston but its difficult to justify that as "complex redstone"
Execution - I'm unsure about execution, it looks nice and just by glancing at it i'm sure it works well. However, nowadays they really don't take long to make.
Its a medium size.
To get engineer build something that hasn't been seen before, sure in singleplayer you can use command blocks, but on this server you can't. It makes the rank much more difficult to acquire but it is well worth putting the effort in.
