On second thought, comparing to others its not that much bigger. Must be some eye trick or something. About the build... I love the Luffy, maybe because I'm a One Piece fan but whatever! If you don't get it from this make 1 or 2 more or make a bit of a bigger one and im sure you will get it!

Luffy is good, but its not wowing me, some of the detailing looks off, ie face, arm

personally speaking go larger and add the detail needed.

Good effort though

I think you might like this one better. I replaced all the glass. Imma make another luffy on the creative server soon. Can't afford the wool to make it on survival at the moment, but here is the changed luffy.

To me, to be honest, it still looks a bit pixelated. Add a bigger thing and make it with a lot more detail, try picking some character a bit more complicated. That's all if you don't get it of course.

When doing Pixel art should always attempt it in creative world. The ones you have selected need a lot of detail so the Size must be bigger.

As For RD from MLP there are so many base templates out there for them that you could have really gone big with this one also for the Monkey guy one.

I think you will find it easier to use a good amount of Different materials if you make it bigger. Your issue with him is your not having the colors transition over in a fade, so when you place a block it sticks out like a sore thumb hence the pixelated look.
