YuriNeykonan's Architect Application

Sun Nov 30, 2014 4:24 am

(Hello once again, after some revision, and rebuilding I am submitting this build once again, in hopes of a different result. This time with more words!!)

The Rank I'm applying for is: Architect
My Game Name is: YuriNeykonan
My Project is called: Ruined Tree Town
To get to my project: /warp kodyforest
A brief description of my project: My project is a town of decrepit and old tree stump homes which have been torn from their former glory, as a town of towering tree homes, due to an infestation of giant, deadly spiders. It has been abandoned for years, and has collapsed upon itself, now only a shell of it's former self. To clarify, the town is not meant to look inhabited, since IT HASN'T BEEN INHABITED FOR YEARS. I recommend viewing the town in Soartex Fanver - Simple and Clean, since that's what most of it was built in. Also, most of the town was built by kody306, while the rest was build by YuriNeykonan, This is due to me changing accounts halfway through. Thank you :D

I'd have to say beauty might be low as the flat is visible literally everywhere around this build. You don't even have something like a line of trees around the outside.

maybe try and include a few more pictures as its hard to tell the true detail and effort gone into the build. for example, i can see a lake? but I'm not sure whats around it? is there anything in the woods behind it we should know about? any detail inside the trees?

I thought the application had not mattered as much, and that it was instead a reminder as to judging the build. If the application actually directly affects te build, then I shall go in to greater detail about the build.

This build reminds me of Kokiri Village, from LoZ:OoT, although it was not intended to be based off of it, so avoid the comparison of the two affecting the final results. The town, now in shambles, is composed of homes carved into the trunks of enormous trees, located near a dark forest and lake. Confronted with the problem of being called out for the absence of roofs during my last submission of the build, I wish to clarify that in every means, this town has been uninhabited and abandoned for years, the roofs of the homes decayed and collapsed upon themselves (They also took from the aesthetic of the build), the homes and landscape of the town is littered with trees, cobwebs, and moss, and the walls crumbled and decayed, along with the main and only gate into the town, which was originally located right beside the watch tower facing the forest. Due to the village being rural, their main source of food relied solely on the hunting of small animals wandering around the nearby forest, and the fish in the nearby lake. Due to the foundation of the lake beginning to crumble away, the town reinforced the "wall" between the lake and the forest, for if the lake were to flood the forest, both sources of food would be destroyed. The build is very flat due to the fact that halfway through, I re invoked my artist status, declaring it was far more exceptionally easy to achieve than architect was. I came to regret this decision, though, since to landscape the build, I would require W.E., since it would be twice the effort to rebuild the entire town on different levels of elevation. The town is the main focus of the build, although if the inclusion of the surrounding environment were to affect it positively, than the forest is also part of the build. The forest is meant to be a continuation on the build for a later rank, and anything within it is NOT part of THIS rank application.

Hopefully that does for a better explanation, the one included in the main post was the result of a rushed application, since at the time, I was, well, rushed lol. If needed, I shall included more pictures of the whole of the town later on, since in the moment of writing this, I'm not currently on the server. Here's to hoping I get architect.... :P

ALSO: Some of the chests have named items within, most to compliment the theme of the build, while some of them are sort of, as you say, comic relief. The interiors of the homes are very basic, since, as stated before, the town is meant to be rural, and can't quite afford to be luxurious with interior decor.

Its a lot more about the build, however i cant see the build very well in the 3 pictures you have posted. The application is just a way of bringing attention to the build so that we can judge it and give you a set of points based on our opinions.

Just adding some more screen shots so that people not online can get a better look into the detail of the build.

Its missing something. I would suggest adding in a focal point. something that draws your eye in. Also make it make more sense if the roof has withered away there should still be beams or even some form of roofing left. I think this project has a lot of potential and I really wanna see you finish it. But it does have some parts where it looks unfinished and almost as if u gave up in certain area's. Rework out some layout and landscaping. Then I'll give u my rating. But atm I feel its very unfinished.
