Two Sides - Extreme Speculation/Idea

This would be a lot to ask, so I won't propose it as a question, but an idea.
What if there was a world where you could team up with someone, multiple people, and choose a side. Live under the rule of the devil or the god. Each side has different pros and cons. Your side serves as your moral compass. Think of the Devil's side as the offense, and the Lord's as the defense. Make your sacrifices to please your leader, and pray in return for more to fight the opposing belief. Friend turned against friend, contribute to your empire and destroy the opposing belief - kill them to sacrifice blood to your devil, or steal from them to forge items anew with your god.
(THIS IS IN NO WAY RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDA)
I'm going to flat out state that I think this would be a cool little thing to put in another map or "server" but that's a LOT to ask, but I'd like peoples' feedback on the idea anyway. Feel free to PM me regarding anything you want to know.
A message to Pri - this isn't me asking for something I like to be implemented, but I honestly thought this could make for a really nice gamemode sort of thing - like Survival, Creative, or Skyblock. I do want your feedback on it, however, and if you do like the idea, please message me to discuss some of this.
