So, I know that the community building contest is a big event that many players get into. It helps show the server's creativity. But what about having more and different events that is applicable to all players?
Some people might not want to join the contests for multiple reasons, and that kind of leaves them out of the biggest event that occurs on the server. What I was wondering is what if we had more community events that could include everyone? This could include games like Hunger Games, Capture the Crown, and Spleef, or more social events such as server building projects. We could even have more games to earn rickies.
I don't know if the community would really be into this or not, but this is more or less my own thoughts on what would be nice to have. Please provide feedback and if you think that more events would be great or just plain idiotic! Dzięki!

Re: Community Events?
We tried to offer games before but the problem that kept cropping up was people living in different time zones all over the world.
To give you an example we held three "cube" events where players joined and played through obstacles to win prizes. They went well but many people felt cheated that it was held at times which suited Americans. Some of our aussie players couldn't stay up to 3am at night to play.
It was for this reason that we went to a "build event" model which could span many days to give everyone a chance to compete. Now I'm not saying I'm against non-building events just we need to figure out a way to give everyone equal opportunity to play and ideally the games need to be automated because we (the staff) equally cannot be around at every hour to monitor or setup a game for people to play.
I'm happy to hear ideas.

If you're a redstone wizard, perhaps you can create an arcade game where people simply compete for the highest score
But then there's the problem of automatically identifying the player to get the scoreboard to work... (unless Pri installs or writes a plugin for it.)
