Have you ever hosted a server before?

Haven't you?

I had hosted one, but it was a private server so only few players got in.

Don't post your IP address by the way, to protect yourself from hackers.

I mean their own Minecraft server before they joined RenMX Server. Edited the title and description.

The thread is for people who have experienced hosting a Minecraft server.

I was just making a joke, like I don't know what a server is.

The funny thing is when I take that seriously.

I could get super pedantic here and say everyone who has ever played singleplayer Minecraft has hosted a server, technically it's a server as of a few versions ago. :P

Loopholes ftw.

I've ran a couple, some privately hosted for me and a few friends and a couple larger scale ones.
The main one I did was craftopia which was a dedicated Tekkit Classic server which took me days to configure for protection and banned items etc.
Was one of my favs though as I made my own custom dynmap system and web interface also built my own donation system that linked into both the website and server which was a small feature to a lot of people but was a great learning experience for me personally.
I still have all the perms files and backed up computer craft scripts I wrote for it.
