Our new RenMX User Guide

For all new players that join our Survival server they will automatically be presented with the following book. It will take up slot one in their inventory and already be in their hand as they spawn for the first time. Take a look at what the book contains!

How about creative guide book?

Survival is currently our lead server. It is the only one we are advertising as you know. Creative is more like a sub-server to our Survival and not an area of active focus. As such new players should be entering our Survival server first and viewing the book there.

We will discuss the Creative server and what we are going to do there soon but right now my focus is on Survival.

I launched our server with creative yes but it is no longer our lead server. The game play in the Survival mode of Minecraft has become quite compelling over the past year and a half and many players now find it somewhat challenging with lots of things to create and build towards.

And from an administrative perspective Survival is wonderful as it is easy to control due to players having limited resources which makes it quite difficult for them to turn natural land in to great honking piles of crap. This also means it's harder to grief but more importantly players stick with their projects longer instead of dotting the map with hundreds of creations like they do on Creative.

Our Survival server is also very well set up with the amazing looking Spawn, player maze, admin shop, teleportation docks, starter items, circular pre-rendered border and now the user guide. It is much easier to continue to develop this server when it has such a strong foundation.

We do intend to reboot the creative server this year much like we did with Survival last year, we aren't quite sure yet what exactly we will do but a new spawn has been built and it looks very impressive. Creative needs the most work of all our servers which is why we are treating it like a second class citizen while we focus our efforts on building a strong population of active players around Survival.

What I'm aiming for is a halo effect basically. We bring players in with Survival and then through that they discover our other servers. But again we will be rebooting creative later this year and I'm sure it will become popular on its own. One thing I want to say extra about this, when I use the word reboot I do not mean map wipe. We will not be wiping the creative map. We will however be retooling its plugins, moving the spawn, changing some of the permissions and so forth.

I was thinking maybe we could interpret creative mod into the survival server, like making towns to live in or adding mods. I heard Pri talking about some plugins that he might install, and those may help with something.
